Plan, coordinate and facilitate groups for parents. Establish partnerships with area schools, churches and community centers to host 10-week parent training sessions. Negotiate with partner sites to ensure child-care, meals and manuals are provided for participants. Responsible for maintaining up-to-date session information and distribution within the community; administer required pre- and post-test, and survey instruments and maintain documentation related to each class/session. Conduct a minimum of three home visits with each family during the 10-week sessions.  Responsible for assessing for safety, helping parents to identify ongoing needs and supports and connecting them to community resources. Work a flexible schedule.


  • Coordinate and facilitate a 10-week group parent education program.
  • Develop/Maintain necessary materials for each session and group experience.
  • Maintain partner relationships with providers of location, which includes childcare, food and materials for each group. Maintain ongoing communication with partners before, during and after each group experience.
  • Work together with Program team to insure smooth coordination of meals, childcare activities, calendars, graduation planning/activities, supplies and distribution of materials.
  • Conduct a minimum of three home visits with each parent during established intervals throughout the 10-week sessions.
  • Make referrals to community resources for: outpatient counseling or medical care; educational needs; utility needs; housing issues with landlords; shelters or potential housing programs; and to connect families with community resources.
  • Conduct follow-up home visits with families at specified intervals after completion of the 10-week sessions.
  • Maintain necessary case notes, pre- and post-tests, surveys and program evaluations in relation to each group participant and the group as a whole.
  • Organize workflow with support staff for the tracking of clients, groups and activities related to each group.
  • Meet regularly with immediate supervisor and Program team for reporting, planning, affirmation, support and direction.
  • Collaborate with supervision/administration and team to create and distribute promotional information about current and upcoming classes, Program newsletter (a minimum of three times a year), and other events with the intent to promote and/or raise funds for Program.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations relative to continued collaboration regarding all involved partners and/or transitions or expansions of services.



  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work or related human service field
  • Experience working with children and families
