  • Overview

    Maintain various accounting records of the organization and works at the direction of the Financial Reporting Director to ensure that the financial systems and records are accurate, efficient, and in accordance with governmental regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Financial Reporting Director in performing the general accounting activities including maintenance of general ledgers, production and posting of standard, general and adjusting journal entries for monthly processing and production of accurate financial reports while maintaining the internal control system
    • Prepare required state and federal financial reports, payroll reports, monthly profit-loss statements, monthly internal management reports, month and year-end closing work and annual information returns; conduct special studies and analyses, prepares special financial reports and responds to requests for information
    • Assist the budget process by gathering data, reports and other information; input approved budget into the financial reporting system
    • Work with the corporate payroll system, accounts payable system, and reconcile cash accounts
    • Assist with the preparation of year end audit work papers for the annual audits by independent CPA’s and Medicaid auditors; assist with preparation of Medicaid and Medicare Cost Reports and IRS Forms 990 and 1065
    • Understand and apply basic, intermediate, or advanced accounting theories and principles to work assigned including but not limited to fixed assets and depreciation, inventories, debt financing, intangible assets, and consolidations.
    • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality of all data: employee and operations
    • Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills working harmoniously both independently and with others
    • Special projects as assigned

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university with a concentration in accounting, or equivalent work experience
    • Two (2) plus years of previous accounting experience in health care industry preferably
