IT System Administrator - 1st Shift - Full-Time

The Systems Administrator installs, maintains and upgrades internal computer hardware and software systems in a mixed technical environment including IIS, SharePoint, MS SQL Server, and Windows desktop applications. The Systems Administrator supports, maintains, and configures business applications; working with application vendors performs troubleshooting, new system implementations, customer support, upgrades, patches, and required documentation; controls user access and passwords; propose and implement systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance of the systems; monitors application usage and performance; trains personnel on systems usage;  produces reports and modifications as requested; manages Active Directory and level 2 and  level 3 support.

• Execute hardware & software system deployment and maintenance processes
• Perform software & system administration duties including managing user access and training
• Provide technical support for software applications
• Execute and define key business processes within the R&D environment
• Execute and define configuration management processes in a global environment
• Configuration management and implement systems and application configuration changes
• Maintain user access to ensure appropriate levels of confidentiality
• Maintain Active Directory, to include schema, OU, security groups, user accounts, group policy and scripts
• Program and maintain WSUS servers
• Ensure backups of databases according to policy or procedure
• Establish and maintain file sharing, access privileges and security
• Install and maintain related software products. This includes performing required upgrades to ensure operating system currency, improving monitoring capabilities and eliminating legacy infrastructure
• Provide diagnostic support and act as interface to vendors for all failing components within the system
• Maintain servers hosting internal applications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
• Five (5) or more years of information technology experience
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, WSUS
• Experience in maintaining and administering IIS, SQL Server, SharePoint and MS Office applications
• Experience writing scripts and SQL statements
• Experience installing and supporting Microsoft server technologies
• Working knowledge of operating systems, hardware and network infrastructure
• In depth understanding of computer operating systems, applications and data flow dependencies between applications
• Prior IT experience in a Health Care services a plus
