Responsible for the preparation of well balanced meals for all youth in residence and maintaining the kitchen and dining areas in a clean, safe and functional manner meeting all regulatory guidelines. Prepare menus in accordance with sound and contemporary principles of nutrition and all relevant government guidelines. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of food supplies, kitchen supplies, equipment, and to purchase needed items when directed to do so.
Responsible for developing positive relationships with youth that encourage achievement of treatment goals. Maintain the treatment milieu by providing for the youth’s basic needs, being effective in counseling and managing the youth’s behavior in accordance with the youth’s treatment plan, and working well in teamwork with youths’ families, senior youth specialists and other staff members.
