Complete home studies to determine families’ suitability to meet the needs of children in out-of-home care. Conduct rigorous background checks, home inspections and psycho-social assessments; Orient and train prospective foster families to the application, home study and placement process. Responsibilities could include making placement matches and coordinating the placement process. Monitor up to 30 licensed foster homes or enrolled families; Complete investigations to ensure foster families’ compliance with licensing rules, agency and state policies, and state law.

Responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic treatment plans with families that will assist them in resolving the issues that led to a referral to the child welfare system. Use counseling techniques, community resources, concrete services, and family empowerment to assist the family in goal achievement. Communicate effectively with the local DHS, courts, medical and education systems to advocate for the family. Responsible for regular visits with the family in their home, administer required assessments and survey instruments; writing and submitting treatment plans, service plans, safety plans and court reports; assist in the arrangement of aftercare services based on families’ needs for a caseload of up to 12 families. Works a flexible schedule (including non-traditional hours) based on families’ needs.
Assist foster care staff in meeting the needs of clients by transporting children and supervising interactions between children and their families; monitor, supervise, and coach parents during parenting times; assist foster care staff in case related activities.
